The lineup for the 106th-annual IHSAA boys state basketball finals is nearly complete after semistate championships were decided Saturday.
Evansville Bosse won’t know its opponent in Class 3A until Tuesday night, after Griffith (25-3) and Marion (21-7) play their semistate game at Lafayette.
Saturday’s Panthers-Giants game was postponed after the Griffith team bus was involved in a crash Saturday afternoon on I-65 in Jasper County.
David Garrett, head coach of Griffith’s freshman team, was airlifted to the University of Chicago Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He has since been transferred to Christ Advocate Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. Several players suffered cuts and bruises but were released after treatment.
No. 1 New Albany (26-1) will play 4th-rated McCutcheon (28-3) for the Class 4A title. No. 2 Lapel (25-4) and 7th-ranked Indianapolis Howe (23-7) will vie for the 2A crown with top-rated Liberty Christian (25-4) and Bloomfield (26-3) meeting for the Class A championship.
All games will be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
