Eight games are on tap today in the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, but most fans in the Hoosier state have their sights set on just two of those contests.
A much-anticipated battle between two of college basketball’s biggest rivals and most storied programs, Indiana and Kentucky, begins at 5:15 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa. The East Region heavyweight matchup can be seen on CBS.
The No. 5 seed Hoosiers (26-7) and 4th-seed Wildcats (27-8) haven’t played since 2012, when IU fans stormed the Assembly Hall court after Indiana’s last-second win.
The celebration helped fuel the fire of a childish disagreement about whether the school’s would play each other on their respective campuses or at neutral sites.
Game 2 at Des Moines has 9th-seed Connecticut (25-10) going against Kansas (30-4), the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed.

The 9th-seed Bulldogs are 22-10, the Cavaliers are 27-7. Butler defeated Texas Tech, 71-61, in the first-round on Thursday. Virginia advanced thanks to an 81-45 win over Hampton.
