Senior guard Candace Brown scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Gardner-Webb University past Wofford College, 64-61, Thursday night. Brown made 14-of-18 free throws to help the Runnin’ Bulldogs improve to 3-0.

An 8-8 game after 1 quarter turned into a 27-19 halftime lead for Wofford, but G-W outscored the Terriers, 23-13, in the 3rd quarter to take a 42-40 advantage.
Connersville High School graduate Tierra Huntsman got the Runnin’ Rebels off to a quick start to open the 4th quarter, scoring a layup, drawing a foul and converting the and-one free throw to push the lead to 45-40.

Huntsman finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds and an assist for coach Rick Reeves’ team. Forward Olivia Parker had 17 points and 10 boards.
Ashton Fleming paced the Terriers with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Kentra Washington had 13 points and 9 caroms with Maria Corella chipping in 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Gardner-Webb hosts UNC Greensboro on Tuesday, Nov. 24 (7 p.m.).
