With Paul George playing as well as he ever has, the Indiana Pacers have won 5 of their last 6 games, improving to 5-4 after an 0-3 start.
The Pacers will try to get win No. 6 tonight when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves (4-4) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse (7 p.m.).
George has scored 26 points or more in 5 straight games to increase his average to 23.8 a contest. The 6-7 forward leads Indiana in rebounding at 8.8 an outing and is second in assists, averaging 4.7.
Guard George Hill (14.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists) and center Jordan Hill (9.1 points, 8.3 boards) also are playing well for the Pacers, who will be without rookie center Myles Turner for at least 4 weeks. Turner suffered a chip fracture in his left thumb Wednesday during Indiana’s 102-91 win at Boston. Turner is averaging 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds.
Tonight’s game will be the only appearance at The Fieldhouse by second-year sensation Andrew Wiggins (19.7 points, 3.7 rebounds) and highly-regarded rookie Karl-Anthony Towns (16.1 points, 10.5 rebounds).
It could be the final time 39-year-old, 14-time All-Star Kevin Garnett plays in Indianapolis.
The game can be seen on Fox Sports Indiana.
