It’s win or call it a season for high school football teams in Indiana tonight, as the 43rd annual IHSAA state tournament begins with first-round sectional play.

Connersville’s Spartans will try to get win No. 2 and keep their season going when they host Pendleton Heights in Class 4A Sectional 22 action at CHS Field (7 p.m.).
The Spartans (1-8) are coming off a 49-7 loss to Class 3A No. 10 Batesville (8-1). Pendleton Heights (3-6) was battered by Shelbyville (8-1, No. 7) in its final regular season game, 42-21.

The Spartans score 14.9 points a game but give up 37.8. The Arabians put 22.4 points on the scoreboard each game while surrendering 36.
Turnovers, which have plagued CHS all season, could be a key to the outcome. The game time temperature should be in the mid-60s with a slight chance of rain.
