The Connersville Spartans will try to get their second win of the year tonight, the final night of high school football’s regular season.
CHS (1-7) will head south to battle Batesville. The Bulldogs (7-1) are rated No. 14 in this week’s Associated Press Class 3A poll.
The Spartans ran into a buzzsaw last week, losing to Lawrenceburg, 42-0. Turnovers were costly to Connersville in the Senior Night loss.
Batesville beat Franklin County, 28-8, last week, the team’s third straight win. The Bulldogs’ only loss is to East Central (7-1, No. 6 Class 4A).
Tonight’s game does not count in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference standings. Connersville is a 4A school, Batesville is 3A. The Bulldogs won the 3A Division, going 3-0. East Central won the 4A Division, also finishing 3-0.
