It’s been seven years since a professional wrestling event was held in Connersville. The drought will end Saturday when AmVets Post #11 hosts IWF Pro Wrestling. Doors open at 2 p.m., with action getting underway at 4 p.m.
Six matches matches are on the schedule, with Diceman Ronnie Vegas headlining the show in the main event.
Vegas is a 25-year-veteran of the squared circle and has wrestled all around the United States. Hailing from Las Vegas, ‘Diceman’ is one of the toughest competitors in professional wrestling, according to co-promoter Randy Klemme, who wrestled professionally for 10 years.
“Everyone associates the WWE with professional wrestling,” said Klemme. “But the guys and gals that you see on Raw and Smackdown all started their wrestling careers on the independent wrestling circuit. These guys work very hard to entertain the fans without all the glitz and glamour and the pyrotechnics that you would see on Monday and Thursday nights.”
Saturday’s event will benefit AmVets Club #11 in Connersville, and its programs.
“IWF is proud to support the AmVets and wants wrestling fans from all over to come to this event and show their support as well,” Klemme said. “It will be a show that they’ll enjoy.”
The event is an outdoor show. Tickets are $12 for VIP seating in the front two rows. General admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children, with children under 5 admitted free.
A reminder: please bring lawn chairs if purchasing general admission tickets.
The AmVets will have several activities going on during the event, including a beer garden. The kitchen will be open.
“It’s exciting to have pro wrestling come back to town and we look forward to a great event on Saturday,” stated Klemme.
