Boys state basketball championships up for grabs

One day, four games. The boy’s high school basketball season in Indiana is down to its final hours.

Eight schools will converge on Bankers Life Fieldhouse today with hopes of winning a state championship in the 4-class system. The action gets started at 10:30 a.m. with the first of two ‘day’ games.

Michigan City Marquette Catholic (24-6) and Barr-Reeve (26-2) will tangle for the Class 1A title in Game 1, with defending champion Park Tudor (25-2) and Frankton (26-2) colliding for the 2A crown at  12:45 p.m.

The 3A championship pits Griffith (19-10) against Guerin Catholic (21-8) at 6 p.m., with Evansville Reitz (29-1) and Homestead (28-2) battling for 4A supremacy, with tip off slated for 8:15.

All four games will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Indiana. A live stream of the games will be available at IHSAAtv.org.
